Founded in 2014, RoboSense is headquartered in Shenzhen, China, with locations globally, including Michigan, Detroit, and Stuttgart, Germany. The RoboSense team comprises top talent from leading global companies and scientific research institutions, bolstering our innovation capabilities. With customer-centric technology and a highly iterative product development strategy, we deliver LiDAR perception solutions that harness the power of three core technologies: chips, LiDAR hardware, and perception software. 

In 2016, RoboSense began developing its R Platform mechanical LiDAR. One year later, in 2017, we introduced our perception software alongside the automotive-grade M Platform LiDAR sensors tailored for advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems. We achieved the start-of-production (SOP) of the M1 in 2021, becoming the world’s first LiDAR company to mass-produce automotive-grade LiDAR equipped with chips developed in-house. In 2022, RoboSense launched its solid-state E1 for blind spot detection, complementing the M Platform product lineup for the automotive market. In January 2024, we launched the newest M Platform sensors, the ultimate cost-effective soild-state mid range LiDAR and the M3, our next-generation long-range LiDAR.

RoboSense, honored with prestigious awards such as the Automotive News PACE Award, AutoSens Award, Audi Innovation Lab Champion, and CES Innovation Awards, has established a solid foundation of success. 

As of December 18, 2023, RoboSense has secured 62 vehicle model design wins and enabled 21 OEMs and Tier 1 customers to start mass production of 24 models. We serve over 2,500 customers in the robotics and other non-automotive industries and are the global lidar market leader in cumulative sales volume.

Over the years, Dr. Steven Qiu has published multiple articles at world-renowned journals including JFR(Journal of Field Robotics), and has participated in several robotics projects including those led by NSFC(Natural Science Foundation of China). 

In 2014, he founded RoboSense, with a business focusing on full-stack systems incorporate LiDAR sensors, proprietary system on a chip and cutting-edge perception software. Now, RoboSense has become a global leader in the LiDAR and perception solutions market.
